The highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest in the Himalayas, is named after Welshman Sir George Everest from Crickhowell. Sir George worked on the trigonometrical survey of India from 1806 to 1843, became superintendent of the survey in 1823 and surveyor general of India in 1830. He was knighted in 1861.

Today’s the day Cardiff celebrates its golden jubilee as a city. The 50th anniversary comes less than two months since Cardiff celebrated its 100th anniversary as a city.
First things first - fill a layer with your Foreground color.
Click on the Create a New Layer icon in the Layers palette and press Alt-Backspace on your PC (Option-Delete on a Mac) to fill it with your Foreground color.
