Welsh Dragon MINI Grille Badge

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Today, I finally found time to fit the official MINI Grille Badge Holder to my new MINI. It’s been one of those projects I’ve been meaning to do for some time, but something has always cropped up causing me to postpone the attempt.
The main problem has been that the badge holder was designed for […]

Sunday afternoon run

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Sunday afternoon was a glorious day for a run - warm, sunny with a nice refreshing breeze. My first week back running after the foot injury has been a successful one, no pain and no problems whatsoever. The only thing I’ve experienced is a loss of fitness, but with a bit of effort that will […]

50k World Record Treadmill Run Attempt: June 29th, 2007

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

On Friday June 29th, a good friend of mine, 38-year-old Virginia Beach resident, Tommy Neeson, will attempt to run 50 Kilometers (31 miles) on a treadmill faster than anyone before him. The current record is held by Derek Lalonde (Canada) with a time of 3:39:00. Tommy is parlaying this endeavor into a charity run for […]

How to update the Alexa thumbnail image of your web site

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

Regular cymru66.com readers will know I’ve been nominated for Best Blog About Stuff in the 2007 Blogger’s Choice Awards.
On hearing the news I’d been nominated, I clicked through to the Blogger’s Choice Awards web site to check things out. First thing I noticed was the thumbnail of my blog was out of date, and […]

Cardigan Bay dolphins learning to speak ‘Welsh’

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

Strange, but true. According to Ronan Hickey, a former student at the University of Wales, dolphins living in Cardigan Bay are communicating with each other in a “Welsh” dialect.
Scientists comparing resident dolphins there found the friendly mammals had developed a unique series of whistles, different to those found in other parts of the Irish Sea.

Saturday afternoon 4 miler

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

Last night’s 30 minute run turned out to be a steady effort on the treadmill. The weather turned bad on the way home from work and I didn’t really fancy the threat of a wet and windy run outside. As usual, the treadmill run was pretty mundane and uneventful, but at least it was another […]

Iced mint tea recipe

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

Here’s a nice, quick iced mint tea recipe, slightly adapted from something I found over at the Cooking with Anne blog, and perfect for the warm summer days ahead. I’m afraid I’m not a green tea lover. In fact, the only tea I’ll drink has to be some kind of mint variety - peppermint and […]

Yet another tag, or is that a blag?

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

Yes, it’s happened again. For the second time in a week, I’ve been tagged - this time from fellow BlogCatalog member Anne over at Cooking with Anne. Actually I’m thinking we should start calling these games a “blag”. Just as “blog” is a combination of web and log, “blag” is a combination of “blog” and […]

Vote for me in the Blogger’s Choice Awards!

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Somehow I’ve been nominated for one of the 2007 Blogger’s Choice Awards. Actually I was nominated by BlogCatalog member crkian who maintains the excellent Wampago Music Videos blog (thanks Chris!).
Naturally there’s no chance I’ll win anything, but if you do fancy voting for me, here’s the link: Best Blog About Stuff. After all, it’s only […]
