10 days ago I put in a request basketball diaries the dvd download
for Alexa to update the site [tag]thumbnail[/tag] they were displaying for [tag]cymru66.com[/tag]. The standard response I received from their web site was:
“Thank you, The thumbnail image for “http://www.cymru66.com/” will be updated within 48 hours download candyman online
I waited a couple of days before checking my listing at the [tag]Alexa[/tag] site – still the old thumbnail. Being the impatient type (well, not really), I checked back daily but each time all I saw was the old thumbnail. I even submitted the form a couple more times just to “make sure” they received the request. (I’m not 100% sure, but maybe this messed the process up?)
On Day 7 , I decided to email [tag]Alexa[/tag] to ask about the delay. They replied a couple of days later with the following:
“Dear Steve,
Thank you for contacting Alexa Internet regarding your site’s thumbnail image.
We have placed your site at the top of the image update queue and you should see a new thumbnail displayed in a few hours.
We appreciate your interest in Alexa.
Best regards,
Alexa Internet Customer Service.”
I waited a couple of hours before visiting the Alexa site, and when I finally got around to checking, the thumbnail had been updated! The good news is this update should filter down to other web sites that use the Alexa thumbnail. I’ve already noticed my blog listing on Technorati has been updated and I’m sure there are others. The next site I’m going to target is the Blogger’s Choice Awards where I’ve been nominated for Best Blog About Stuff – I’m currently on the second page with 27 votes. I try to change my address details of one of my sites (don’t really like it that every one can see that) on Alexa, but I’ve never received Alexa’s confirmation email. Your post just reminded me that I should try again…
