A few days ago I was asked to make a small edit to a [tag]logo[/tag] I’d designed some time last year. Thought it might make a colorful post to show off several of my designs from various sporting events and web site projects. race – the Hair of the Dog 5k to be held on New Year’s Day, 2007 at 10:00am. The venue is Mount Trashmore, Virginia Beach.
The race will be held entirely on the paved running trails within the Park. The route will make one small loop around the Mount Trashmore hills and one long loop around the lake. Unusually for Trashmore, the course is flat and fast!
In typical KaleRunning fashion, they’ve added a couple of novel twists to the race to the make it a fun and exciting New Year’s event for the whole family:
A single brand has been launched to modernise Wales’ profile and promote the country world-wide.
Symbolised by a dragon facing west, it was unveiled on the first working day of an enlarged Welsh Assembly Government. The dragon brand – believed to have cost £119,000 ($208,000) to develop – will now be rolled out through all work produced by the assembly government promoting Wales.
I could have designed it for $200 if they’d just asked….

Since my recent post chicken run online regarding the CHKD Run/Walk for the Kids, I’ve had a couple of emails asking about logo design/creation. It’s a service I offer in addition to web site development/maintenance and something I really enjoy. For just $200 I will create something from scratch or, if you already have an idea in mind, I can use that as a starting point. The finished logo will be available in a high resolution vector format for print use, and a lower resolution suitable for use on a web site.
A recent design project was to create a logo for an upcoming run/walk event in Norfolk, VA. The brief from the client was exceptional and allowed me to quickly nail down what was expected. After a dummy run of 7 or 8 examples, CHKD
offered further thoughts and opinion on the end product. From there it was purely a matter of making tweaks to colors, positioning, and text placement. (more…)
