I Won Another Competition: This Time An iTunes Gift Card
A couple of months ago I entered a competition to win an iTunes gift certificate at Mike French’s Tales From The Tree blog. Mike is a popular member of the BlogCatalog social blog directory, which is where I first discovered his two writing/publishing blogs.
I don’t remember the exact details of the competition, but I think it was something about choosing the odd song out from a “wall” of iTunes tracks. Somehow I deduced the odd one out to be the classic Ruby, by The Kaiser Chiefs song. I emailed my entry to Mike, and as the contest wasn’t due to finish until the end of September, promptly forgot all about it!
About a month later, I contacted Mike about Chapter 3 of his book, and he mentioned in his reply that I was still the only entrant in the competition and it had just one week left to run. Now I was excited! First prize was a $25 iTunes gift certificate, and somewhat prematurely I mentally reviewed songs I could purchase with my “winnings”.
Fast forward one week and I received the good news that I was indeed the competition winner, so a big thanks to Mike for hosting the contest and a big thanks to everyone else for not entering! 
Now I just have to choose what songs to buy….
On a side note, Mike releases a new chapter of his book, The Dandelion Tree, every time the current chapter receives 15 Diggs. What an innovative way to involve the reader in the unfolding of his online book! 6 more Diggs are required before Chapter 4 can be released, so please help out and Digg the story here.
