Calzaghe: “Hopkins Needs A Facelift”
Joe Calzaghe is just days away from making his United States debut in his fight against Bernard Hopkins and as with most big fights nowadays, the verbal exchanges are almost as good as the fight itself.
Calzaghe vs Hopkins is no exception, as their war of words took a comic twist earlier this week. Here’s Joe’s response after being told Hopkins said he was going to give him a facelift during the bout:
He’s the one that needs the facelift. He’s the ugly one…I’ve really struggled to make him look any uglier than he is. He’s ugly. His nose is flat across the face…So much for a great defense. He must have walked into a lamp post to get a nose like that. That’s all I can say.
Classic! Let’s hope Joe does the business in the ring on Saturday night and puts Hopkins in his place once and for all….

C’mon Joe, we know you can do it.
Bernard is brash and bold, Joe in typical Welsh fashion, is much more modest but quietly confident. With the enthusiastic backing of a very large Welsh contingent in Las Vegas, Joe will succeed.

Great performance from Joe, would be interested to hear his next and maybe final opponent.

Yeah it was a great performance from Joe - not a real classic, but Hopkins never wanted or allowed it to be a classic fight.
Next up? Maybe Antonio Tarver, maybe Roy Jones Jr, maybe Kelly Pavlik? Who knows?
Maybe it’s time for Joe to retire and hang up his gloves for good? Time will tell…

I cannot see him hanging them up before another fight to be honest. Plus it might give me the opportunity to see him live.
Love to see him fight either Jones or Tarver. Just a shame that no one wanted to fight him a few years ago.

I hope Calzaghe wins, I am tired of Hopkins although I have great respect for him. It will be great.
