Lone Tour de France Welshmen still flying high
Geraint Thomas of Cardiff, Wales, at 21 the youngest rider in the Tour de France, kept up his good form in yesterday’s 193 km fourth stage from Villers-Cotterts to Joigny.
He finished one minute and seven seconds behind stage winner Thor Hushovd of Swtzerland and now stands in 47th position overall.
Geraint, who lost his spleen in a bad crash in 2005, was given his Tour de France shot when his UK-based, South African-financed team Barloworld were given a wildcard entry. He is now leading the Barloworld riders.
