The record for the hottest July day in Wales on record was broken yesterday. Temperatures at RAF Mona on Anglesey reached 33.9C (93F) beating the previous July record held by Usk. The all-time high in Wales was 35.2C (95.3F) at Hawarden Bridge on August 2, 1990 which could fall next week after a relative lull over the next few days.
UPDATE:
The new record is 34.2C (93.5F), set at Penhow on Wednesday (19th July), which surpasses that set at RAF Mona, Anglesey earlier in the day.
