Push Ups: The Quest for Strength Week 4 Revisited
Here we go again - Week 4 of the Push Ups Quest for Strength plan. If you’re thinking “Wait a minute, we already did Week 4″, you’re absolutely correct, but my plan to complete Week 5 and 6 while I was on vacation didn’t exactly happen. I didn’t totally slob around, but I didn’t follow the plan to the letter either, so I’m going to revisit Week 4 and hopefully pick up where I left off.
I’ve already completed Tuesday’s workout (which should have been Monday’s but I’m a day behind), so tonight after my FIRST Key Run Workout #2 I’ll need to complete the Wednesday exercises. Tuesday was a bit of a struggle and it’s amazing what strength you can lose after a lazy couple of weeks. Hopefully tonight will be more manageable…

Update (9:00pm): Managed the 22, 17, 17, 15 but could only eek out 17 at the end. I can’t wait for Saturday’s workout

Ive started doing this same programe about six weeks ago and i am finding week 5 a difficult one. I have managed to do the first 3 series which is 30, 24 ,22 on one go but the fourth and fifth series are killer i get to about 16 on the forth then get up drink some water and 10 seconds later do the remaining four. i have to split up the last one into more managable sets with about 20 seconds inbetween to 10, 5, 5, 10 because its killer. overall so far im really liking the work out, im starting to gets some compliments so it must be doing something.

Good for you. I would agree - the last 2 weeks are definitely the toughest. Stick with it though….

Hello, I am a 62 yo also trying the program. I used to pretty good at these in my younger days. Anyway, I am in Week 5 and also finding it difficult in doing the max. I find that I rest about 4 minutes, vice the 45 seconds, before doing the max, I can fairly easily do 55. So …I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about taking this extra rest. Just for the last set. I don’t need it for the others. Feel free to contact me directly.
One other question. I am a runner and swimmer. This program won’t adversely affect me in those sports? Comments welcome directly to my Emai.
Thanks in advance
