Find The Face: The Sequel

After several blog comments and numerous emails all saying how much they enjoyed the Find The Face In The Coffee Beans post, I thought it would be fun to test my Photoshop skills and come up with my own unique Find The Face illusion.
It’s embarrassing to admit, but I once owned one of the almost-impossible-to-finish Baked Bean Jigsaw Puzzles which drove me crazy for several weeks. It was this memory that gave me the inspiration for the “Baked Bean Find The Face Illusion”. A quick visit to iStockphoto revealed a nice selection of Baked Bean images, so now it was just a question of finding a face to use in the illusion. A glance through my recent holiday photos provided the perfect pic - a photo of me after the Llanelli 10k race I ran in Wales.
So, 10 minutes later, after carefully selecting, scaling, rotating and overlaying my head on the Baked Bean image, the masterpiece was complete. A quick reduction in opacity finished the task and here I present to you the “Cymru66 Find The Face In The Baked Beans Illusion“….
If you manged to find the face in the coffee beans, I’m sure you want have any trouble finding me, the human baked bean, in the image. Have fun and as always, your visits, comments and stumbles are appreciated!

Great work Steve, think we’ve spotted you - are you slightly submerged, around the 5.25 mark on the clock face? Hmmm. If we get this right we’ll post it next week, OK?
July 20th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Just above the copyright, about 1 bean up? afraid not….

Oh … tell me, tell me, where’s the face, I can’t find from both the coffee and bean, is there anything wrong with my eyes
July 23rd, 2007 at 7:58 am
Am I only suppose to see an eye.. because that’s all I see.. and have been back like three times.. erm I suppose I will try again…
Good once though.. you totally got me stumped
July 23rd, 2007 at 2:54 pm
Ok, clue time….
If you did the coffee bean illusion and found the face near the bottom right of the image, this time look for the face near the top left of the baked bean image…
Good luck!

Steve,
Is that your face in the one bean? Scary! Are you a scary guy? If I am correct I have to admit I shouldn’t have ever found it without your clue.
July 23rd, 2007 at 5:23 pm
I probably find u… You have lost your ears in the beans…? And u have white reflex on your nose?? If I am right..I found you in 10 minutes…hard…very hard job…
July 23rd, 2007 at 7:16 pm
OMG… I’ll never find it :’(
July 23rd, 2007 at 8:00 pm
Very, very funny. Great idea- this made me laugh. It’s like some sort of sick nightmare, stuck inside some beans!
July 23rd, 2007 at 11:28 pm
I believe I’ve found ya. After comparing your face to every other bean on the top left I’ve been able to see the hidden face. Its very well blended in however
July 24th, 2007 at 8:58 am
I think I found the same face than Marcos… but still in doubt… the coffee bean face was certainly a man… this face is like a mud figure !!!
Anyway, very good work.

July 26th, 2007 at 2:55 pm
OMG! I had to have the hint and then my daughter had to point it out to me! Once I could see it, it sort of creeped me out! That was really a good one! Think I’ll have to link you on my blog so more people can enjoy this challenge!
July 26th, 2007 at 6:14 pm

August 3rd, 2007 at 4:34 am
I found it in about 2 & a half minutes,without the clue
I just went bean by bean, but since i found it,i can’t see anything else but the face!
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:17 am
Wow…
Maybe you set the alpha of your face too low, but I barely see you even now I found you..
August 6th, 2007 at 1:17 pm
Alright, I found this one, sure, and I needed some tips because I have to admit I didn’t quite know what I was looking for.
Any tips for the coffee bean image though? Is it the same thing? Like, a face on a single bean, or what? I hate the stupid coffee bean one because I don’t know what the hell I’m looking for, whether it’s a bit outline compose of the coffee beans, a face hidden beneath the coffee beans, a small hint of a face, or what.
August 9th, 2007 at 7:54 pm
I’ve tried the 10 o’clock thing, can’t get your picture to open to see what I am supposed to be looking for- HELP!!!!!!!
August 9th, 2007 at 8:26 pm
Captain Ite: similar thing for the coffee. Clue - look near the bottom of the image…
Pepper: The photo you see is the only one. Take a close look at each bean individually….you should see something

August 10th, 2007 at 4:44 pm
From the photo I saw, the coffeebean face was on the left side, not the right. So which side is the face in the baked beans actually at? The photo I was talking about was the one that they referenced in the blog, the original photo.
