Garmin Forerunner 305 - turn GPS off for indoor use

SettingsFor the rare times you don’t want to run outside, wouldn’t it be great if you could turn off the built-in GPS and use the 305 as a regular watch/heart rate monitor?

Well, actually you can, and it’s really easy to do:

To turn GPS off for indoor use:
From the Main Menu, select Settings | General | System

Press enter and select GPS OFF from the GPS menu.

Note:
When GPS is off, pace and distance data are not available. The next time you turn on your 305, it will search for satellite signals again.
