2nd Generation iPod shuffle review
Digital Trends has posted a great review of the all-new iPod Shuffle from Apple. The world’s smallest digital music player costs just $79 and is an amazing 1.62 inches long and weighs in at about half an ounce. The 1GB iPod shuffle lets you wear up to 240 songs (actual capacity varies by encoding) on your sleeve. Or your lapel. Or your belt.
The new shuffle has only been on the market for a few days, but the folks at iFixit.com have already posted a guide showing step-by-step instructions how to take the 2nd gen iPod shuffle apart. I’m hoping I’ll never have to use their guide, but I guess it’s useful to see exactly what’s inside the tiny MP3 player.
If you’re looking to buy one of the new players and can’t wait for an online order to ship, you should be able to pick one up at your local Walmart. I took the plunge and bought one yesterday and plan on selling my old shuffle and sport case on eBay. The shuffle is actually tinier than it looks online and really is a remarkable product. Surely it can’t get any smaller?

It’s a great little iPod! If you already own one of the larger models, this new Shuffle is a perfect device for when a full-size iPod is still just a little bulky (or expensive).
I own a Shuffle v1 too, but this version 2 Shuffle is much nicer and the in-built clip if perfect to clip it on the back of your tie whilst in work.

Hey David,
I have a nano and a v1 shuffle (which I’m selling on eBay at the moment. nano is great for a car journey or when I want to be selective in what I’m listening too. shuffle is great for working out and when I’d prefer the random approach…
Thanks for the comment!
