iPod nano locked up
For some reason my iPod nano locked up yesterday after a calendar alert displayed on screen. The message on display was “Press Center to dismiss”. Pressing Center didn’t do anything (neither did any other button press combination) and I was left with a locked up iPod nano that my PC wouldn’t even recognize. Couldn’t find anything on the Apple.com site, but the solution I stumbled on this morning was:
- slide hold into the on position
- slide hold into the off position
- hold down menu and center for about 6 seconds
- the nano reboots and everything works again
easy when you know how I guess……

Thanks bro! I listen to my iPod at work and it locked up on me at the beginning of my shift. Tonight really would have sucked without my music. Thanks again!

Wish it worked for me. Holding down the menu and centre buttons turns it off and on but all I get is the Apple screen and it remains unresponsive.
