Starbucks & iTunes Free Song Of The Day
Starbucks is giving away a FREE song by a handpicked artist every day for 37 days through November 7th, 2007.
Starting today, just ask your barista for the “Song of the Day” - you’ll receive a card good for a free download on iTunes.
Note: Cards available while supplies last. Download codes expire December 31st, 2007. iTunes account and software required.
Update: Popped into my local Starbucks lunchtime, but the barista informed me they’d given out all their download cards within the first hour! The free song of the day was apparently Jokerman by Bob Dylan. She promised she’d save me one tomorrow though….
To download your free song on iTunes:
1. Download iTunes for Mac or Windows.
2. Open iTunes and click iTunes Store.
3. Click Redeem.
4. Enter download code. Your download will start immediately.
5. Play song and enjoy. Coffee optional.

This is such a cool promotion by Starbucks and Apple in my opinion. It’s a no-brainer for each of them. It’s an easy way to give back to their customers (without costing them anything really, when you think about it), plus it’s a big win for the artists to get some easy promotion. I’ve got 3 of the 4 so far (missed the Joni Mitchell giveaway) and they’ve been pretty decent.

Anyone know how many songs were downloaded during the period. I mean with each cup of coffee a download, wow that’s a lot of downloads. Does anyone know if by doing the promotion did more songs get downloaded because of it. Did the promotion work for everyone,
