DRM-Free Music Downloads From Amazon.com
Did you know Amazon MP3 offers over 2 million songs — all in MP3 format, which means they can play on any digital media player, including the iPod?
Most songs are between $0.89 and $0.99, and most albums are between $5.99 and $9.99. Browse by price or genre; shop Top Downloads or New & Future Releases; and search for songs, albums or artists using the search box at the top of any Amazon MP3 storefront page.
Listen to 30-second samples of songs by clicking the “play” button next to a song title, or hear all samples from a song list by clicking the “Preview All” button.
Amazon MP3 uses 1-Click ordering to make buying music quick and easy. Click “Buy” and after a simple one-time set-up, your downloads will start automatically.
Please note: Amazon MP3 is currently limited to US customers.
Once you’ve downloaded your music, you can use whichever media player application you prefer to manage it, like iTunes or Windows Media Player.
Songs from Amazon MP3 can be played on any MP3-capable device, including iPods, Zunes, Zens, iPhones, RAZRs and BlackBerrys. The files are free of digital rights management (DRM) software, so you can burn your songs to CDs, play them on all your computers, and transfer them to all your devices. Songs are encoded at 256 kbps, which means you get high audio quality at a manageable file size.
If you’d like to try Amazon MP3, they’re currently offering a FREE download of Energy by The Apples in Stereo, which happens to be quite an energetic tune and pretty catchy!
If you love music, I’m sure you’ll find plenty of your favorite tunes on Amazon MP3, and compared to some of the other online music stores, the prices are very favorable.

Yes, it is a shame. Maybe Amazon will open it up to other countries in the future?
Fingers crossed eh?

I’ve read that if you sign up at Amazon and are outside of the USA (with a credit card from another country), that you can just use any state/ZIP code (but they must be real) that you want and then you can purchase away.
On a related note, there is a website that searches over 6,000,000 tracks (not including AmazonMP3, which it says its adding soon) at once - http://www.songboxx.com . With the addition of AmazonMP3, it’ll be a pretty incredible search engine.
