Sad day for Leeds United - club placed into Administration

Elland Road - Home of Leeds UnitedLeeds United were relegated to the third tier of English football yesterday after voluntarily placing themselves in administration with approximate debts of £35million.

The Football League instantly imposed a ten-point deduction upon the club, which confirms their relegation from the Coca-Cola Championship to League One for next season.

The ten-point penalty officially takes them down but at least they will begin next season with a clean slate. Shortly after the appointment of administrators KPMG, the club was sold back to a newly-formed company called Leeds United Football Club Limited, with Ken Bates, Shaun Harvey and Mark Taylor as its directors.

At the moment, I’m not sure who the best guy for the job is. Bates seems to be the number one choice, but Revie would be good for old-times sake I suppose.

      What about you?

Not sure Simon Morris hasn’t gone over the top with his website and push to get the club, it hasn’t shown any passion for the club in that part, he could at least flog leeds gear/ads on his site and give the profits to leeds.

Ken Bates, great man in my mind he knew what he was doing at the start of the season when he said the cllub would be debt free come the end of the season, hence the buying back of the club and clearing debts part. He did a great job with chelsea who were in the same boat more or less when he tok them on.
