Calling all MINI drivers: attempt on Guinness World Record - most MINIs in a parade
On June 10th, in Virginia Beach, VA, the local MINI club will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of MINIs on parade. The current record, held by a group in Blackpool, England, stands at 269. Seven Cities Mini is aiming for 300!
MINI owners from Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina will join local area MINI drivers at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.
Registration is at 2pm and one hour later the MINI convoy will motor down Dam Neck Road, ending the parade at Conklin’s Irish Rover. In order to break the record, Guinness officials have told the group the cars must travel two miles, with no more than two car lengths between each car, at 25 mph. Virginia Beach police will assist by blocking the route as none of the cars are allowed to stop.
All proceeds will benefit the Naval Special Warfare Foundation and UDT-SEAL Association.

If you’d like to participate in this historic record attempt, contact Simon Biggs at 490-1111. Simon is really enthusiastic about setting this record and just happens to be the guy that recently sold me my Pepper White/Black MINI Cooper S! (pictured above)
Do you think the record can be broken, or is a 300 MINI convoy an impossible feat? Seeing as though I (a) only live about a mile from the Virginia Beach Sportsplex and (b) own a MINI Cooper S, I’ll be there! Should be fun….

I do not see HRMINI mentioned SPECIFICALLY in your blog. This is sure to sour a few faces there (the lemon look) and cause the world to slowly come to an end.

Apologies. I actually edited this post earlier today, but neglected to publish it. You should now see a link to the HRMINI web site.
