[Starbucks] Coffee Frappuccino recipe

Ingredients [makes 2 “Grande” drinks]

  • 3/4 cup double-strength coffee, cold
  • 1 cup 1% milk
  • 3 tablespoons Turbinado
  • 2 cups ice
  1. Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker. My preference is 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using.
  2. To make the frappuccino, combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses, and serve with a straw.

[note: this is NOT the official Starbucks recipe, just something that looks and tastes similar to the real thing]

Oooh! What an awesome find! You could add chocolate chips to make the Java Chip Frappuccino but do I really have to buy Turbinado?

Thanks for the comment. Turbinado does help with the flavor and blends in nicely (unlike some of the other sweeteners available). Next time you’re at your local Starbucks, just pick up an extra packet of sugar :)

Nicely done. I don’t really think you need the Turbinado, Sugar for sweetness and Pectin for “mouth feel” work pretty good. Still I must try this variation soon. Thanks. Mark
