1 year running streak and the Charlotte Marathon

Haven’t had too much time to post anything of note the past week or so - the usual story of being busy at work and lots going on at home too. However, today marks my one year anniversary of running at least 2 miles every day, so I figured I’d take a couple of minutes to mark the occasion. Will the streak continue after today? I think so, I don’t see any reason why I should end it at the moment. As long as I can stay injury free, there’s no reason why I can’t set aside at least 16 minutes to run a couple of miles as a bare minimum. Naturally, I’ll be running longer/faster when I can.

Thunder Road Marathon - CharlotteAlso, last night I (stupidly) signed up for the Thunder Road Marathon in Charlotte on December 9th. I’ve had this notion in the back of my mind since the Marine Corps Marathon of doing another marathon before the end of 2006. Well, Charlotte fits the bill perfectly and I should have enough fitness for a decent showing. I’m not expecting another PR (after 3 consecutive PR’s already this year), but it should be a good race. My 2 races since Marine Corps (The Cape Henry 10 Miler and the Turkey Trot 10k) have both been good runs, so I’m positive it won’t be a disaster. No doubt I’ll update the blog as race day approaches. For now I have one last 2006 10k on Saturday to think about….

I have been writing my running blog from Mold Flintshire North wales for a while now. Perhaps it’ll have many posts over next few months with London marathon coming up. I googled running blogs for some inspiration ideas etc and came up with yours via running about .com. Greeting from Wales - When did you move accross the pond ? Rob
