FIRST Marathon Training Program: Week 11
Week 11 - September 17th, 2007
Here we go, Week 11 of the FIRST Marathon Training Program:
Key Run Workout #1: divx beowulf
10-20 minute warm up
1k, 1k, 2k, 1k (400m RI)
10 minute cool down
Key Run Workout #2: righteous kill free download
6 mile run:
1 mile easy
5 miles @ MT pace (Medium Tempo)
Key Run Workout #3:
Distance: 20 miles @ PMP + (30-45 sec/mile)

I may run Boston next year. Ran it in 2000 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Touch, tough course though….

Hey - I heard somewhere that your blog was infamous! hee hee. Okay, you know I’m kidding around.
I have a question for you. If you want to improve your running time (i.e. the time it takes to finish a run), do you train by trying to run faster, or do you train by trying to run further?

Laurie: no simple answer for this one, but you’ll probably have good results if you (a) run a little faster on your shorter runs and (b) run a little longer on your long runs. Personally, the shorter, faster stuff breaks me down quicker than the longer, endurance type of runs, but everyone’s different and the shorter/faster stuff may work for you.

Wow!! I am so impressed by anyone who trains for a marathon. I like to workout, but I hate to run. Good luck with all of your workout training.
