An estimated 20,000 runners will take part in the 13.1 mile race held on Labor Day Weekend but at the moment there are still slots available. As an incentive to sign up for the race, organizers are offering a FREE Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon Beach Towel for a limited time only.

From the event web site: fighting with anger dvdrip The Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon starts at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, runs through the scenic Virginia Beach oceanfront and finishes on the spectacular oceanfront boardwalk. Participants will be treated to 14 stages along the 13.1-mile course, featuring 20 local bands as well as 16 local high school cheerleading squads spaced approximately every mile.
At the finish line, participants and spectators can munch on tasty treats and sip frosty beer while they lounge on the sand listening to the finish line feature bands. Later that evening, a headline act will thrill the crowd at the post-race concert on the sand at the 5th Street Beach Stage.
Each registered participant and finisher will receive the following:
- Half Marathon entry
- Race number, loaner timing chip, T-shirt and goodie bag to be picked up at the Expo
- Water and Lemonade Accelerade along the course
- PowerBar Gel at mile 10.2
- Food, Lemonade Accelerade and water at the start and finish lines
- 14 Entertainment stages with live rock ‘n’ roll and 16 cheer squads along the course
- Finisher’s medal when you cross the finish line
- Complimentary beer at the Finish Line Beach Party
- Entrance to all Verizon Wireless American Music Festival concerts with race number, including the post-race concert headlined by INXS
- Finisher’s certificate sent to you post race
- Last but not least, a rockin’ experience to prove why This Beach Rocks!
