Record Field For 2007 Richmond Marathon

If you’ve been keeping up with the news on my other blog, you’ll know that yesterday I [crazily] signed up for this weekend’s 2007 Richmond Marathon. This year marks the 30th anniversary of “America’s Friendliest Marathon” and good news for the event organizer’s - it’s also going to be the biggest in the event’s history!
At the close of business yesterday, sign-ups for Saturday’s marathon had surged beyond 4,940. The previous marathon participation record, 4,763, was established in 2005. Event organizers say they anticipate another 150-200 sign-ups before race day, which will take the figure over the magic 5,000 mark!
