Creeds 5k (18:19 - 2nd overall, 1st age group. Hoped for slightly faster time, but Friday’s long run and stiff wind played a part
    1 mile gentle cool down
  • 46.6 miles for the week

Summary: Pleased with Wednesday’s Strength Builder and Friday’s 16 miles in the park. Not so pleased with Sunday’s 5k race, but I guess I have to remember I’m training for a marathon not a 5k. Went through 1st mile in 5:42, mix up at the turnaround and ran too far by mistake, and then faded slightly against the wind on the way back. Not all bad though as I moved up from 5th to 2nd after the first mile.
So, less than 2 weeks to go until the marathon. I’m hoping everything comes together and I start to feel better than I do this morning. At least my weight is where it should be and my resting heart rate is a low 39. Time to enjoy the taper and stay healthy and injury free.
