Running Review: March 6th-March 12th

  • Monday: 5.5 miles fartlek
  • Tuesday: Easy 4 miles with several accelerations
  • Wednesday: Just 2 miles to keep the “streak” going
  • Thursday: 5.5 miles (warm up, 3×6mins progressive/hard, cool down)
  • Friday: Easy 3 miles
  • Saturday: 2 mile warm up

Summary:

Feeling good after the drop in mileage. Also nice to get some quality workouts in. Particularly pleased with Saturday’s track workout (Yasso 800’s life as a house online ) - does this point to a 2:55 or better marathon?? Hope this workout wasn’t too close too next Sunday’s Shamrock. Maybe I left it a little late in the training cycle, but I wanted to give myself every chance to do my best and get a good indicator of what shape I’m in.
This week will just be about keeping things ticking over, staying healthy, eating right, staying hydrated and hoping it’s not going to be as hot as it was today (high 70’s!).
