Saturday track workout

Map of 8x200m with warm up/cool downGood workout today. Actually had some luck with a tailwind for the final 100m on each repeat, compared to the SE headwind on May 31st. I tried to run each 200m a little faster than the previous one and it seemed to work well - I was able to finish up with a 34.8.
Hard to believe the world record for the 200m is an astonishing 19.32, set 10 years ago by the American Michael Johnson! It’s also hard to believe the record has stood for a decade…

Next week I move up to 12×200m repeats which should be interesting. I expect my times to be slightly slower and plan on holding a little back to enable me to complete the workout. Goal pace will be the same @ 37.5seconds/200m.
I’ll be hoping my shins are ready for action - they’re already feeling a little sore from all the faster running. Oh well, tempo run again tomorrow to end another week’s training…….
