Hammer Gel Shelf Life
To save money, I typically buy Hammer Gel in the 26-serving jugs, although recently for the sake of convenience, I’ve been taking advantage of the single serving pouches. I’ve often wondered how long I could keep one of the jugs in the refrigerator once it’s been opened. This was posted yesterday on the Yahoo! endurancelist Group - a private forum for clients of E-Caps and Hammer Nutrition to discuss all facets of training, diet, nutritional supplements and fuel sources.
“Hammer Gel of both un-opened and opened containers have a maximum shelf life. If you look at the side of your jug there is a date stamped on the bottle and that is really the longest a bottle should be kept around. Once it is opened, even in the refrigerator I would put about 10-12 months maximum, unless the expiration date comes first.”
