Vacation is over…
First of all, apologies for the lack of new content here at cymru66 for the past couple of weeks. Time went fast (as it usually does) and the trip to Wales was over before I knew it. It was great however to spend time with my family who I don’t get to see as often as I’d like now that I’m living in Virginia Beach in the USA.
Now for some good news. You may recall one of my previous articles about a 50K treadmill world-record attempt by my friend Tommy Neeson who was hoping to raise $3,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Foundation, which houses families of sick children. Despite a very tough last few miles, Tommy was able to smash the record by nearly five minutes and set a new best of 3:34.24 for the just over 31 mile distance, raising over $6,000 in the process.
The local newspaper covered the event and wrote a great article about Tommy’s huge effort. There’s also an online video featuring some of the highlights of the record breaking run.
