Why didn’t I think of that? [The Million Dollar Homepage]
Every now and again on the Internet, someone comes up with an idea that’s so simple, you think “Why didn’t I think of that?”. The Million Dollar Homepage” is a perfect example.
Alex Tew from Wiltshire, England had been mulling over how he’d be able to pay for his university tuition fees when he came up with the idea of selling pixels. His homepage is 1000px x 1000px and he sells each pixel for just $1.00.
Initially friends and family bought the real estate but when he’d sold 1000 pixels he decided to make a press release. The rest as they say is history.
Now Alex is selling his last 1000 pixels on eBay where the tiny advertising space is currently selling for over $25,000! Amazing story and good luck to him!
