Yahoo! Music Free & Legal Lyrics Search

Filed under: CSS — Steve Speirs @ 7:57 am

Yahoo! LyricsI really like music, but can never understand what the singer or the band is saying. To make matters worse, I seem to be the only one in my household that suffers with this affliction. Luckily for me, Yahoo! has just launched an all new Lyrics Search feature as part of their Yahoo! Music offering. It works really well and the quality and accuracy of the results is very impressive. Aside from being both FREE and LEGAL, one of the best things about the search is the absence of tacky ads, annoying pop-ups and chances of picking up some kind of spyware.

Types of search could include looking for a particular band’s lyrics (eg Coldplay

download romeo and juliet free

), or lyrics from a particular song (eg The Killers Mr. Brightside divx beetle juice

download without a paddle dvdrip impostors the free

).

The one thing that spoiled the site for me was how it displays in Firefox 2.0.0.3. The artist thumbnails near the bottom of the screen don’t line up and there are some funny diamond shapes near the search box that don’t appear in IE7.0.

Still, a great new addition to the Yahoo! Search family and hopefully I’ll be able to sing along to a few more tunes now…

  1. I agree that it is hard to understand a lot of the singers out there. One song that had me fooled for the longest time was “She Drives Me Crazy” by The Fine Young Cannibals. I used to think they were saying “with long white hair,” but its actually “like no one else.” Apparently this is a fairly common misinterpretation, lol, even though common sense would prove that they sound nothing like one another.

  2. That’s a good one!

I always thought TLC were saying “Don’t go Jason Waterfalls” on this song: Waterfalls

    Anyone have any others?

    Thanks for the comment!

  6. Oh..that’s a handy pretty feature from Yahoo. I got the same problem when it comes to lyrics. I love to sing along with the radio when I’m driving in my car, but usually just make up my own lyrics LOL…

  9. Some of my favourite music is Vietnamese dating from the sixties. I speak the language very badly and certainly don’t understand all the words. If the words have a melody that blends in the meaning has little importance to me.
Mind I’m too old to listento anything written after 1975.
