4 steps to add a drop shadow to text in Photoshop
Let’s assume you have some text on a layer that you’d like to apply a drop shadow to:

step 1: In the Layers palette, make sure the layer containing the text you want to add a drop shadow to is selected [just click on the layer once if it’s not selected].
step 2: Click the Layer Styles button
at the bottom of the Layers palette and choose Drop Shadow from the list that appears.
step 3: Adjust the settings to create your desired effect. You can change many aspects of the shadow, including how it blends with the layers below it, its opacity (how much the underlying layers show through), the angle of the light, and its distance from the text or object. Make sure you have the Preview box checked to see how the various settings change the drop shadow.

step 4: When you’re happy with the finished product, click OK. You’re done!

Hey, thanks for that! I would be farting about all day trying to find the drop shadow feature in Photoshop. I know I could have a read of the help files, but your tutorial is so quick and simple. I’m ready to drop shadows all over the place now… Thanks again!
